#1 Select your metals

Curate 2-3 metals that work well together and identify your metal and its characteristics. Nickel has a warm undertone and generally works better than chrome when paired with brass and gold. Black goes with everything!

#2 Choose a dominant and an accent metal

Rather than trying to equally distribute different metals, choose a dominant metal and use the other as an accent.

#3 Separate metals by height

Separate metals by height. All metals on a similar plane are the same. Use one metal for lighting and another for cabinet hardware. Or same metal for faucets and another for cabinets.

#4 Create balance

Spread out the dominant finish throughout the room. Juxtapose warm and cool tone metals, and remember black goes with everything!
