Quality Bedding & A Cohesive Color Scheme
First, you will start with quality bedding in a neutral or cohesive color scheme. Having sheets that are crisp and soft will instantly create a feeling of comfort, quality, and luxury. Quality bedding doesn't have to mean expensive bedding. There are so many affordable quality bedding options on the market these days. Here are some of our favorite quality bedding options.
Creating a cohesive color scheme throughout your bedroom and bedding is so important - it is key in adding visual interest and balance to the room. By using complimentary colors, you can create a cohesive look that ties the room together. If you are unsure of how to create a cohesive color palette for your bedroom check out this post. For bedrooms we love to use neutral colors, such as whites and creams, to give it a true luxury hotel vibe.

Layer Up That Bedding
When making your bed, start with a fitted sheet, followed by a flat sheet and any comforters, blankets or duvet covers. For a crisp, polished look, you will want to tuck in the sides and foot of the bed. Our personal go-to bedding option is to add a duvet on top and then add a quilt at the bottom of the bed. However, depending on where you live this should be chosen based off of your personal climate, style, and sleeping habits. If you do choose to go with a duvet cover, there are several ways that your duvet can be folded to add visual interest to the bed: single fold, double fold, and half fold. There is no “right” fold - this is the perfect place to get creative and have a little fun with your bed styling!
Add Even More Layers & Finishing Touches
Last but not least, you will add in throw pillows and a textured throw blanket. Adding a cozy throw blanket and accent pillows on top of your bedding will add texture and visual interest – the more layers, the cozier the bed! Consider mixing and matching patterns and fabrics for a unique look. Here we walk you through exactly how to arrange throw pillows on a twin, queen, and king size bed. Don’t forget to make sure your bed is properly made with smooth, wrinkle-free sheets and fluffed up pillows. With a little attention to detail, your bed can look like it belongs in a luxury hotel.
